Connecting GitLinker to Bitbucket
Once the app is installed in the Jira instance, a Jira user with administrator permissions needs to configure the app in order to set up the relationship with Bitbucket.
Go to Apps in Jira and under the “Apps” section in the sidebar menu locate “GitLinker Configuration”.
Input your Bitbucket username.
In another tab, open your Bitbucket account and go to “Personal Settings”.
Go to the “App Passwords” section of the sidebar menu and click on “Create app password”.
Input a Label and make sure to grant the Read permissions displayed in the screenshot below.
Click on “Create”.
Make sure to copy the app password you just generated.
Now, return to your previous tab in Jira and paste the app password in our configuration page and click on “Save”.
You’ve successfully linked Bitbucket to Jira.
Now all the users in the Jira workspace will be able to link their work in Bitbucket with Jira issues.
