You must be a Freshservice administrator to be able to install apps.
Installing the Trello app
-
In Freshservice, go to the Marketplace and search for Trello
-
Select the app to open its details page
-
Click Install to start adding the app to your Freshservice instance
Allowing Freshservice to access your Trello account
-
A Trello window opens and asks you to let Freshservice use your account
-
Click Allow. This step is required to enable the Trello app
When you allow access, the app will be able to:
-
Read all of your boards and teams
-
Create and update cards, lists, boards and teams
-
Make comments for you
-
Read your email address
The app won't be able to see your Trello password.
The Trello account you use here gives access to the Trello boards where your agents will create and link cards from their tickets.
Creating a "Trello agent"
To connect the Freshservice Power-Up in Trello, you'll need the API key of a Freshservice agent with admin permissions.
-
In Freshservice, create a new agent named Trello agent
-
Assign the agent the Administrator role and save
The "Trello agent" is optional. You can also use an admin's API key to connect your Trello boards, but you'll need to share it with the people setting up the Power-Up.
Getting the API key
-
Log in to Freshservice as the agent whose API key you'll use
-
Click the profile picture in the top-right corner and select Profile settings
-
Copy the API key shown on the profile page
Keep this API key handy. You'll need it to connect the Freshservice Power-Up in Trello.
